2013 Swim

Hamlin Lake swim

A swim across Hamlin Lake is planned for 9 a.m. August 9, 2014, from the North Bayou to the dunes, a 1.8-mile stretch.

Local swim instructor Becky Reamer is planning the fourth annual cross-lake swim, to benefit the Hamlin Lake Preservation Society.

The event is a swim not a race.  Each swimmer is assigned a kayaker, extra kayakers are always welcome.  Most swimmers provide their own kayakers.

After arrival at the sand dunes on the north end of the lake, swimmers will be offered a boat ride back to the event start.  In the event of inclement weather, we will hold the event the following weekend.

The suggested donation is $50 to register before the event and $60 to register the morning of the event.  Registration forms are available by clicking -- here -- .

She needs at least 6 pontoon boats to ferry people and clothing from North Bayou Resort to the sand dunes and back.  She will need the boats at the resort by 8:20 AM for the 9:00 AM start of the event.
