North Bayou

By Victoria Raquet, 1992

Oh, how I love this little

nook, of restful beauty that

holds a reserved and special

place within my heart.

Hasn’t God, my God , given

me this foreshadowing taste

of his kingdom?

This woods, this bayou is

home, where my heart comes

back to over and over again.

It is a sanctuary, where my

soul worships God.

It is a counselor, where my

life comes together and

suddenly makes sense.  It is

a paradise, a taste of

what is yet to be.
